Have you seen Another Day/Another Time: Celebrating the Music of “Inside Llewyn Davis”? If you love music you should really see this.
My favorites from the show were Punch Brothers (joined by Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons), Avett Brothers, Milk Carton Kids and last but not least… Lake Street Dive.
A couple of weekends ago we had dinner in Brooklyn at Runner and Stone and then went to the The Bell House to see Lake Street Dive perform. Incredible! I was blown away by the collection of talent in the band. Lead singer Rachel Price’s voice was powerful, rich and soulful. Check them out!
Since it was a small venue, they were all gracious enough to come out after the show and chat and sign autographs. I asked Rachel to take a picture with me and she was as lovely to talk to as she is on stage.
Unexpectedly (and a teensy bit drunkenly) I was almost star-struck. I didn’t know what to say or what to ask her, so I just stood there smiling like a goof. I think I might have even said something abhorrently nerdy like… “Rock on.”
Who says that?
I blame the tequila. Normally, I’m off-the-charts cool.
